CITIZENS FOR TRUTH ANNOUNCES NEW FOCUS; GROUP TO PERFORM OWN INVESTIGATION INTO GATES MURDER

In response to the "official whitewash" known as the Garcetti Report, Citizens for Truth has announced that it will conduct its own investigation into the assassination of William Henry Gates III on December 2, 1999. Concurrent with this new initiative is a new organizational structure for the group.

"There were three mysterious deaths on December 2, and all three of them are still a mystery," said Debra Meagher, President of Citizens for Truth. "Citizens for Truth will not wait any longer for our cowardly and incompetent local authorities to tell us the truth about the deaths of Bill Gates, Thomas Baker and Alek Hidell. We have common sense, we have an inspired membership--we're going to find out the truth for ourselves."

The group has also announced a new focusing of its mission and a re-alignment of its organizational structure. The group will focus its energies in two areas: research and direct action. President Debra Meagher will oversee the group as a whole. David James, formerly co-president, will now be Director of Action and oversee the group's activism and message-building. Patrick Flaherty will remain Citizens for Truth's official legal counsel and also chair the Research Committee.

"This is an exciting milestone for the group," said Director of Action David James. "Whereas before frustration was mounting because we kept waiting for the local authorities to finally step up to the plate and do the right thing, we finally realized that if you want something done right you have to do it yourself. The new two-tiered approach, with one committee handling direct action activities and another researching the assassination, will make us a more effective group than we are already."

Despite the organizational change, it is expected that most members of Citizens for Truth will participate in both the direct action and research efforts of the group.
