CITIZENS FOR TRUTH CONFRONTS LOS ANGELES POLICE COMMISSION

Citizens for Truth co-president David James confronted the Los Angeles Board of Police Commissioners yesterday at a community meeting in Echo Park to protest the Commissioners' failure to appoint an independent body to investigate the assassination of Bill Gates.

Decrying the now-planned inquiry headed by Dist. Atty. Gil Garcetti as a "castrated investigation," James accused the Police Commissioners of being pawns of the police department they are charged to oversee.

The Police Commissioners offered no verbal response to James, but James was escorted from the hall by two LAPD officers when he spoke beyond his allotted time.

Citizens for Truth is a grass-roots organization formed by Debra Meagher and David James in December 1999.
