The question we probably get more than any other is "What's the deal with the broken glasses?" Let us clear up a frequent misunderstanding:
Bill Gates's glasses were NOT broken when he was assassinated. He was not shot in the eye, nor did his glasses break at any point on December 2, 1999 (the day of the assassination), as can be seen from viewing many pictures of the scene taken on that day.
However, the glasses DID turn up broken on April 24, 2000, when the LAPD handed over much of its evidence to the Gates family. The police offered no explanation whatsoever as to how the glasses were broken while in their custody.

This is a detail of a photo taken by freelance photographer Billy Altgens approximately 2 minutes after the assassination. The glasses do not appear broken.

Citizens for Truth has adopted the broken-glasses logo as a symbol--of both LAPD incompetence and of how the public view of the assassination has been distorted. There was considerable debate among the CfT membership about whether to adopt the glasses as our logo, but ultimately it was decided that the iconic power of the image outweighed any worries that it would be misinterpreted or that it was grisly and disrespectful to Gates's memory.
That the logo has been slightly controversial is not ultimately seen as a negative by Citizens for Truth. Having the logo allows us to get our message out in ways we never could before--when the distinctive broken-glasses design appears on signs and banners at football games, behind news reporters doing location spots, and just about anywhere it can be glimpsed for even a split second, we know that every CfT member watching is being reminded that he or she is not alone, and that others may be prompted to say, "Hey, what's that logo mean?" and perhaps find out about our cause.
